Ms Tam Wai Wan Vivian graduated from University of Toronto, majoring in cinema studies and psychology, then she returned to CUHK to pursue her study of M.Phil. in Communication. After graduation, she worked as a reporter in Ming Pao and Cable TV, having covered the SARS epidemic in 2003 and the Sichuan Earthquake in 2008. Ms Tam joined the School of Journalism and Communication since 2009, and now she is the Senior Lecturer of the School. She freelanced in newswriting in her spare time, her two stories on homeless people and persons with mental illness had won the 18th Annual Human Rights Press Awards. Ms Tam teaches reporting classes, and courses related to gender media and culture in both undergraduate and taught master programmes. She published books including a textbook on feature writing and a nonfiction book on the 2019 Hong Kong movement. She writes frequently about popular culture and gender in Hong Kong media.

譚慧雲畢業於多倫多大學,主修電影研究及心理學,其後重返中大攻讀傳理哲學碩士。畢業後先後於明報及有線電視擔任記者,曾報導過 2003 年沙士疫情及 2008 年四川大地震。其後於 2009 年加入新聞與傳播學院,現任新聞與傳播學院高級講師。 業餘時間從事新聞寫作,兩篇關於無家可歸者及精神病患者報導曾獲得第十八屆年度人權新聞獎。 譚老師教授本科及碩士班新聞報導課程以及與性別媒體和文化相關之課程。 她曾出版包括一本關於專題報導之教科書和一本關於 2019 年香港運動之非小說類書籍,此外亦經常在香港媒體上撰寫有關流行文化及和性別的文章。
